Principal's Corner

Marcie Shaw

Mrs. Marcie Shaw was named the principal of Centerville Elementary School during the Houston County Board of Education meeting held April 16, 2024. Shaw currently serves at Centerville Elementary as the Assistant Principal of Instruction.

“I am beyond honored to be able to serve the Centerville community as principal of Centerville Elementary School,” said Shaw. “I look forward to continuing the long-standing tradition of excellence here at Centerville and building even stronger relationships with all our stakeholders. Our students, staff, parents, and community are truly the best. I would like to thank Dr. Scott, the Board of Education members, and our Executive Cabinet for trusting me with this opportunity. I am so proud to be a Mustang!”

Shaw began working at Centerville Elementary as a teacher in 1991. Over the years, she has taught kindergarten, first, second, fourth, and fifth grades. In 2004, she was named the Centerville Elementary Teacher of the Year and was selected as a county-wide top 10 finalist. She also served as the school’s instructional coach for two years before being named Assistant Principal of Instruction in 2017.

Shaw is a proud product of the Houston County School District, where she attended Bonaire Elementary, Warner Robins Middle, and Warner Robins High. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education from the University of Georgia. She and her husband have four children and one grandchild.
